Last and least, arrived on beginning of September the 4th group of short-term volunteers. This time we have Leon from Germany, Eszter from Hungary, Andreu and Eva from Spain, Sandi from Romania e Marie from France. In the next days they are going to present themselfs in a creative way.

Zoia is writing us. It’s been a while since I came back from Matera. Now I am at home, in Saint Petersburg. But first several days after my arrival were very strange, I couldn’t feel like it’s my home because I was really attached to my home in Matera.
These days in Matera there is an exhibition of Salvador Dali’s great pieces. One of my favourite Dali’s paintings is “Ship with butterfly sails” (1937) 🙂
It was in 1951 when Mussolini called Matera “The Shame of Italy“. People at that time were living in conditions, the rest of Italy had left behind years ago. There was no electricity and people were living in much too small houses, together with their animals. The hygienic conditions were bad.
A lot of people travel to Thailand just to attend Full Moon Party, all-night beach party, the day of the full moon, the day before and after. But we are not in Thailand! These days in Matera we have our own party with many full moons all over the city. Those are the moons you can touch, take photos and selfies, too. Continue reading “Moon in Matera”
